January’s resume workshop was a big success. It saw good turnout from the Brothers and local Alumni who came by the House to review Brothers’ resumes before Georgia Tech’s spring all-major career fair. Alumni from several majors were there, and they were able to tailor their advice to Brothers who are in the same, or similar major as they were.  Alumni Seth Bryan '18, Christian Madsen '17, Nathan Olivares '19, Brady Roose '17 and Steve Wiebe (Seton Hall) '09 attended.

This workshop was very helpful for newer Brothers, who are just beginning to look for internships, as well as seniors who are about to graduate and enter the job market. Freshman Brother Jonathon Kirkland had this to say about the workshop: “The resume workshop with Alumni helped me to organize and effectively convey my leadership experiences and academic achievements in a resume. The real world career experience from the Alumni was incredibly helpful in getting my resume put together, especially because I am a first-year. I am confident my new resume could land me a great internship.”

Alumnus Steve Wiebe commented, “I recently participated in the Resume Workshop on January 25th. It was amazing to see the turn out of both Alumni and Brothers at the event. This was my first time participating at the resume workshop, and I was excited to share my experience and do’s/don'ts based on my background in corporate finance and commercial strategy. Two of the Brothers that I remembered distinctively were Harrison Pritchett and Anthony Sito. Harrison had an impressive internship at the Fox Theater as a finance intern and was able to merge his interest for the theater with corporate finance for his internship.

Anthony Sito had amazing contributions to his internship by providing analytics and forecasting capabilities to the small business. Both had very relevant experience and skills that prospective employers want to see. Finally, I was able to help Justin Richard with the layout of his resume, though I confessed to not having any experience in Nuclear Engineering. Overall, it was great to see all the Brothers in attendance and the accomplishments on their resumes. I encourage more Alumni to come out and participate in the next workshop.”

We would also like to congratulate Justin Richard on accepting a job offer from Savannah River Remediation! He will start work shortly after graduating this spring.
